Discover the peaks of the Monts du Cantal

  • Le Puy Mary - 1783 metres high
This is the most visited site in Auvergne. The shortest way is from the Pas de Peyrol pass, which takes about 1 hour.
  • The Plomb du Cantal - 1855 metres high
This is the highest massif in the region. Perhaps this name rings a bell? It is also the name of a delicious cheese.

The ascent is reputed to be quite steep and difficult. It takes about 4.5 hours to make the round trip, including breaks. You can also take the cable car to get there from the Lioran station.
  • Le Puy de Peyre-Arse - 1806 metres high
  • Le Puy Chavaroche - 1739 metres high
  • Le Puy Griou - 1690 metres high
  • Puy de Seycheuse - 1650 metres high

An exceptional setting for hikers

Between ridges, valleys and summits, the Monts du Cantal offers an incredible natural wealth. Through the fir trees, you may even come across chamois and marmots!
  • The GR400

This 132-kilometre hike takes you around the Monts du Cantal. It takes 8 days to cover the main itinerary on paths between 750 and 1855 metres in altitude.
